Baywood Homes took top honours in the 2008 Awards of Excellence ceremonies on April 18th at Deer Creek Golf and Banquet Centre.

DURHAM BUILDERS RECOGNIZE THE BEST IN THE INDUSTRY

(OSHAWA)--Baywood Homes took home top honours at the 2008 Awards of
Excellence ceremonies presented by the Durham Region Home Builders’
Association (DRHBA) on April 18th at Deer Creek Golf & Banquet Centre in
Ajax.

Baywood Homes captured the title of 2008 Home Builder of the Year Tier
II (over 61 homes) and its spectacular community of Napa Valley Estates in Bowmanville  took home numerous awards including the prestigious Community of the Year Award.

Jeffery Homes was also honored with the prestigious Builder of the Year award in the Tier I category
(60 homes and under).

“The Awards of Excellence is our opportunity to recognize the best in the
new home building industry,” said Scott Jeffery, President of the Durham
Region Home Builders’ Association. “Each year our panel of judges have an increasingly
difficult time determining the winners in each category because of the
exceptional products, design and sales and marketing. We are proud to have
this calibre of professionals as members of our Association.”

Heather Hreljac, 2008 Awards Committee Chair, thanked her committee of Jennifer Hurd, Rick Siblock, Mark Weir, Sharon Charlton and Donna Donaldson as well as the esteemed panel
of judges consisting of Tony Vander Cruysen, Jellybean Imaging;
Darryl Sherman, Wilson Furniture; Kathy Geffros, Black & Decker; Paul Lumsden, Vision Design Homes; Joe Vaccaro, BILD; Joel Scopelleti, RENOMARK; and Corey McBurney; EnerQuality.

The Honourable Jim Flaherty, Minister of Finance, was the keynote speaker along with Peter Love Chief Energy Conservation Officer. Ken Shaw of CTV News was the celebrity emcee.
